Mourning

Losing a loved one, even a pet is never an easy thing to do, especially when you have to make that hard decision. We knew at some point, if we had a child, we might have to put her down, but were hoping for the best. And, for awhile, things had been good. But with Evan quickly becoming a toddler and walking and Lexi getting older and more crotchety, our dreams of perfect harmony just didn't work out. We did what we could for her and unfortunately, no one stepped up to the challenge to take her on like we were hoping. I think the most disappointing part is that not even close friends or family that knew about her and loved her would do anything to help us out. That stings. I wish we could have made it work, Lexi would have loved playing ball with Evan as he gets older and a better aim.

"I see your picture.
I smell your skin on
The empty pillow next to mine.
You have only been gone ten days,
But already I'm wasting away.
I know I'll see you again
Whether far or soon.
But I need you to know that I care,
And I miss you." - Incubus

We loved you with all we had and I can't wait to play ball with you on the other side. Miss you so much sweet girl.
